Mission

Serving animals and the people who love them through compassionate, high-quality veterinary care. We thoughtfully integrate Western and holistic medicine to provide individualized, practical, and affordable solutions, empowering families to make informed decisions that support their animals' health and quality of life.

Our Philosophy

At Haven Veterinary Services, we believe medicine is as much an art as it is a science. We augment Western medicine through the addition of holistic approaches, allowing us to provide comprehensive care across the full spectrum of health concerns.

Compassion drives everything we do. We are committed to excellence in service, thoughtful communication, and partnering with owners along every step of their animal's care. You can always expect our best effort, our honest guidance, and our unwavering desire to see your animal live life to the fullest.

We strive to bring back the "James Herriot feel" to veterinary medicine: practical, personalized care; direct access to your veterinarian; and relationships built on trust. We know our clients, our clients know us, and together we work toward the best possible outcome for every animal we serve.

Meet the Team

Anna Houp

DVM, MS, CVA

Having grown up in the Elizabeth area, Dr. Houp is happy now to serve the local community as a doctor of veterinary medicine. She was an avid participant in 4-H and her local youth group before attending Asbury University, where she obtained her BA in Equine Studies. She returned to Colorado to complete her MS in Animal Anatomy prior to attending veterinary school at Colorado State University. Dr. Houp then spent a year at Rood and Riddle Equine Hospital in Lexington, KY for an intensive internship focusing on equine dentistry, reproduction, and foal care. Before starting this practice in the summer of 2025, she worked in a mixed animal practice where she grew her skills in equine, livestock, and small animal medicine.

She is back in her hometown, where she and her husband are enjoying raising their two children. When not on calls, you can find her horseback riding, writing fiction and poetry, gardening, or experimenting with a new recipe.

Berry grew up outside a small town in KY. He met Dr. Houp during their tenure at Asbury University. While his background is in audio production, he has enjoyed embracing the veterinary world with his wife, from helping her study for tests through vet school to assisting with after-hours emergencies. You can find him gloving up to help pull calves, grieving with clients during euthanasias, or holding NG tubes in a horse's nose during a colic work-up.

In his spare time, Berry can be found doing chores on the tractor, playing and singing in their church's worship band, and teaching his kids to enjoy the outdoors.

Genesis Morris

Genesis grew up with a love for animals and has always felt most at home around horses. When she’s not at work, she enjoys spending time with her son, Ezrah, caring for her horse Montana, and being outdoors whenever she can. She values building connections with both people and animals and loves being part of a community that shares a passion for animal care.

In her free time, Genesis enjoys horseback riding, baking, exploring new places, and making memories with her family. She is grateful for the opportunity to work with animals every day and be part of helping them live happy, healthy lives.

Kinzie Rush

Vet Assistant

My passion for horses began at a young age and has shaped both my personal life and career. I grew up competing in high school rodeo, continued into college rodeo, and now compete in the CPRA. Those experiences have given me a deep appreciation for the partnership between horses and their owners and inspired me to pursue a career dedicated to their care.

I earned Associate of Applied Science degrees in Equine Business Management and Horse Training & Management from Lamar Community College. During my time there, I completed an internship at an equine veterinary clinic, where I discovered how rewarding it is to help horses stay healthy and perform at their best.

As a veterinary assistant, I love being able to care for and advocate for our equine partners while supporting both our patients and their owners. I’m committed to continuing my education, expanding my knowledge of veterinary medicine, and providing the highest level of care to every patient.
